Reflecting upon . . .
“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”
― Nelson Mandela

Reflecting on. . .
“Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it.”
― Elizabeth Gilbert

Reflecting on . . . Learning how to step back and reflect and not relive an experience Learning how to prioritize . . . sleep, eat, laugh, enjoy the company of family and friends, take care of responsibilities, etc. Remembering that I am strong enough to deal with anything that must be dealt with . . . to continue to move forward Remembering that a memory cannot hurt me Remembering that stressful moments pass more quickly when I distract myself with humor, exercise, music, prayer, cooking, cleaning, puppy. etc. Daily Goals: Contentment/Peace Gratitude Strength Good Choices Patience Compassion for myself and others Everyday . . . make the best of it . . .

Reflecting on . . .
“You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”
― Gautama Buddha

Reflecting on . . .
“The strength of a woman is not measured by the impact that all her hardships in life have had on her; but the strength of a woman is measured by the extent of her refusal to allow those hardships to dictate her and who she becomes.” ― C. JoyBell C.

On this day. . . and the next. . .
I pray that you feel at peace. . .
I pray that you feel the encouragement that comes with the routine/distractions that improve your mood . . .
I pray that you feel the strength that builds as you continue to reject the substances that harm you physically and emotionally. . .
I hope you continue to reflect on the fact that you are not on this journey alone. . .
I hope you feel confident to reach out when you are feeling "off kilter" to share . . .
I hope when you feel anxious/upset/frustrated/stressed you are able to sit with the emotions because we have all been there and can tell you that it will pass . . .
I hope you find contentment when you take a moment to reflect on what is good in your life/your "gratitude" list. . .
Thinking of you and hoping you are well . . . and feeling stronger and more confident each hour/each day . . .
Remember to be kind to yourself . . .
This process takes time and you can do it. . .

Reflecting on . . .
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
― Melody Beattie
Take care. . .

Quote for Reflection:
“True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing. The greatest blessings of mankind are within us and within our reach. A wise man is content with his lot, whatever it may be, without wishing for what he has not.”
― Seneca
