Quote for Reflection:
Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have - life itself.
Walter Anderson

Reflecting on these encouraging words: Stick to a healthy routine Keep your eyes on the goal You can’t control what you think, but you can control what you do It takes courage to face your own weaknesses Treat yourself with compassion You don’t have to be perfect, you just have to try your best Learn from the past, but don’t get stuck in it Find your own voice Vulnerability can be strength Tell your inner critic to get lost Stay grounded Don’t compare your insides to someone else’s outsides Walk your own path but make room for others Take care . . . Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently.”

This is quote is different . . .I think this can surely be applied to sobriety. . .
Reflecting on . . .
“I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going. And I have trained myself to love it. Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight, that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin our flight. And as we fly, we still may not know where we are going to. But the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings. You may not know where you're going, but you know that so long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you.”
― C. JoyBell C., author

Reflecting on . . .
“In normal life we hardly realize how much more we receive than we give, and life cannot be rich without such gratitude. It is so easy to overestimate the importance of our own achievements compared with what we owe to the help of others.”
― Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Letters and Papers from Prison

"Surely there is something in the unruffled calm of nature that overawes our little anxieties and doubts; the sight of the deep-blue sky and the clustering stars above seems to impart a quiet to the mind.” ― Jonathan Edwards

"Surely there is something in the unruffled calm of nature ..."
Surely there is for me Pam, I get a tad 'skitzy' when I don't commune with it regularly .. even if it's just my garden ... I was only thinking yesterday that it's been awhile since I've been to the bush/rainforest. Perhaps that's been part of my "uneasiness" of late. I must stop looking at the things in my garden that need doing... I should just sit and absorb it instead of allowing the "not good enough" to absorb me.
;-)
Love your quotes Pam, hope you're feeling well.
Take care for today All,
Jenn

At the moment . . . reflecting on . . . resilience . . .
“The oak fought the wind and was broken, the willow bent when it must and survived.” ― Robert Jordan, The Fires of Heaven
“Resilience is accepting your new reality, even if it's less good than the one you had before. You can fight it, you can do nothing but scream about what you've lost, or you can accept that and try to put together something that's good.”
― Elizabeth Edwards
