Hi Kim, You sound much better than yesterday (sleep is a wonderful thing). Just remember the next time the cravings are so bad and you want to give in, that you don't want to ever go through this again. Remember the "sober equity" phrase. You can choose to never have to repeat the last three weeks again by choosing to never drink again. The choice is yours. I wish you the best. Mark/Jeyu

Hi Kim. You are doing well. Stay strong and it will get easier. Don't drink anymore. Time will help you to get better. As Jeyu said. If you don't want to repeat the last three weeks again, don't drink again. You should start feeling better soon. No miracle Kim. Recovering takes time. You can do it but the choice is yours. I hope you get the click Kim. Three weeks is a huge step, don't go back to day one.

Kim It comes from within you. Your ember of desire to be sober is still glowing. Lean on your higher power, whatever it is. Hold on to your hope, whenever you feel hopeless. Remember the reasons you want sobriety. Those are the keys to your success.

Hey Yvan Jeyu, and Brett, I'm still hanging on by the fingernails. Its been a tough day. I had to get rid of my friend of two years to save my house. What a nitemare but hopefully things will start looking up now. And I won't have him setting me off. Luckily my parents are still helping me. I don't know if I'm even making sense. The plan is to go back to AA and a social group. Thanks for your messages. It means a lot to have friends across the sea.

Hi Kim, Like Pam, I am just checking to see how you are doing today. Keep hanging in there, even though it's hard. You are more than halfway to a point where things begin to get a little easier. Mark/Jeyu

Hey Pam and Jeyu, I'm still hanging in there. My stress level seems to have dropped by half since I finally ended it with my friend. Its Sunday here and I'm just taking it easy today. I managed to sleep okay. Thanks for the posts.

Hey Pam, I'm feeling lots better. My stomach pains have died down. I still can't really do that much; whether its physical or mental I don't know. I'm giving myself another couple of weeks before I attempt AA again. I pray every night that I live through till morning, but that's just fear creeping in. Just a day at a time is all I can do for now.

Hey Kim, It's good to hear that your stomach has settled down a bit. Feeling achy takes its toll . . . You mentioned that you don't have a lot of energy to do very much. Do you have an appetite? Are you eating properly and staying hydrated? If I recollect, you mentioned preparing soup in one of your older posts. Just preparing a comfort meal like that and eating a bit might give you more than a bit of energy. Once you throw everything in the crockpot or stockpot, it's just a matter of letting it simmer until its ready. AA meetings . . . Only a few people on the forum attended those . . . . Do you have an alternate idea as to how you can get out of the house just a bit each day until you feel like going to a meeting? If not, I hope you continue to log in and keep in touch. I really am so sorry to read that you're gripped with such intense fear about going to sleep. You're going to be just fine. You simply have to take care of yourself. ***Joyce Meyer ministry has a series of free videos about a variety of Everyday Living topics. She comes across as the auntie who has an opinion and is going to share it whether or not you want to hear it or not. Yes, she is a minister so her videos will reference scripture, but she also speaks on a level (humor and anecdotes ) to connect to her audience to remind them that God is in control. ***I'm not trying to indoctrinate you . . . I just wanted to share that particular resource. Take care and hope you have a good day!

Hey Pam, Thanks for that uplifting post. I've watched heaps of Joyce Meyer on the internet and she used to be on tv. I'm eating okay. I think its just the stress of the breakup affecting my appetite. I'm drinking heaps of water though. You are right. I will be fine. Just need to stop stressing and pray more and hand it over.

Hi Kim, It's morning here and I'm getting ready for work, but I wanted to check in on you and see how you are doing. For me, staying busy was extremely helpful. If not, the minutes and hours seem to creep by. I would suggest that you try to get out for a little while tomorrow? The weather should be getting nice in Australia by now. Stay strong; things will get better. Mark/Jeyu

Hi Kim, Glad you listen to her. Did you ever go to the shelter and get a kitten? I dropped into a pet shop that also has pets from the local shelter to get a kitten. The owner let me know that Kay's breed was very much a hunter and that was not a good idea. She said another dog would be the better choice for a buddy. Either way . . . Hope you are feeling better today and have a chance to get outside for a bit. Pam
