Just chiming in . . .
I am working at remembering this . . . mantra: "let it be" When I actually listen to myself . . . I feel so much better . . .

Hey Jenn and All, I went to an AA meeting tonight and the topic was 'Growth through Pain'. The general theme of the discussion seemed to be that the pain gets worse in the first 3 months of giving up but then gets better as we learn to live and grow through it. The other thing was that the pain we suffer is never as bad as that suffered while drinking. I hope your feelings of unease soon pass Jenn and you come out stronger at the other end.

The other thing was that the pain we suffer is never as bad as that suffered while drinking. I hope your feelings of unease soon pass Jenn and you come out stronger at the other end. Hey Kim and All, I've been feeling good, still a little uneasy but I'm ok with it right now. I find that when I lose my moment and start trying to forecast the future, usually with regards to what one of my children are going through, I get fearful and feel vulnerable. I just have to dwell in right now, "do the next right thing" I guess. And yes!! .. alcohol induced suffering ... there's enough suffering out there without adding alcohol to the mix. I'm glad you went to a meeting, I did as well today and went for coffee with some gals afterwards which was nice. I don't really have English speaking friends so it was nice to chat and feel comfortable expressing myself with likeminded people. Beth, so glad for you re your leg. What a relief for you, a light at the end of the long road you've been travelling of late. It's hard enough staying sober without all the added stress of being injured. Please take care of yourself, you deserve to be well and happy. Jenn

Sounds wonderful, Pam. How much baking do you do this time of the year ? I never was much of a baker, maybe some Duncan Heinz brownies....lol. Glad all is well.

A lot . . actually . . . practically every weekend or every other weekend ...used to always prepare banana bread and muffins of some sort or another and definitely Duncan Heinz brownies . . . Now I usually prepare oatmeal cookies and usually . . . if we don't have many left . . . my son mentions it . . . Also, I like the warmth of the kitchen on the weekends . . . and something on the stove . . . reminds me of home/growing up . . . It's cloudy today but I'm enjoying a bit of television and "chores" How's your day??

Hi Pam,
Relaxing today or keeping busy ? I am taking it easy today. John and I went out for a couple of hours. Since changing from the walker to the cane things seem out of sync. I'm sure it will pass. Just using different muscles, I guess.

Hi Beth . . .
I'm sorry . . . The computer is in the kitchen and I'm in the living room reading a catalog . . . one of my favorite pass times . . . Looking for a special gift for my mom (J.Jill, Landsend, and a different catalog Uno Alla Volta (items by artisans. . . lovely jewelry and things for the house. . .)
I'm taking a break from chores . . . I've been washing and folding (blankets/throws) and other chores ...
Loving the long weekend . . . I'm glad you and John went out and about . . . I'm afraid of encountering Christmas shoppers/"crowds". . . So, I'm going to wait until tomorrow to complete errands. . . .
Continue to have a happy day Beth . . . and don't rush moving around . . . . I know that is easier said than done . . . I inherited that gene . . . habit from my mom . . . . Once I'm awake . . . it's none stop . . . this and that until the evening . . .
Take care and catch you soon . . .
Pam

Hi Pam, No need to apologize. Glad to hear that you are taking it easy ( at least as much as you can.....lol ).
John and I are not going to the big retailers around this time. I don't like crowds either. Especially being slower than usual. Of course, I have never liked a crowd very much.
Talk soon.
