Hi Kim, Yes, I breed horses, Quarter Horse race horses. As opposed to Thoroughbreds, they are sprinters, usually running 440 yards or less. Australia has a long history of Thoroughbred racing, but Quarter Horse racing has just been introduced there. You should see the first of them beginning in 2016 or early 2017. Yeah, I'm disappointed that I had to reschedule, but things happen. It sounds like you are positive and upbeat about things. That's good to see. Mark/Jeyu

PJ, Yeah, I'm certainly hoping to reschedule. I have a number of pictures to bring back to the U.S., one being yours. Mark/Jeyu Yeah, I knew Ang painted one for me. She asked me what colors were my favorites before she started working on it. I can't wait to get it, and will pay the cost of postage when you finally do make it to Tassie and bring it home. The painting will be a cherished possession; it already is and I don't even have it yet. Thanks for the update.

What's happened to Tutes? Seems she's disappeared from the forum since there was some disagreement over her statements about medication being for sissies and JFDI. Hope she's okay. Maybe that's what the whole conversation about facing and addressing conflict was about? Huh...

Hi D4G, No, the thread I started, "Facing and addressing conflict" was the result of my having found some information about conflict avoidance and alcoholism. In my research I find numerous articles, studies, white papers, testimonials, you name it; if I think something would make a good discussion topic here, I share it with the group. I hope Ang comes back soon too. This place isn't the same without her. Peace.

Agreed. And yes, conflict avoidance is a good topic for this forum.

Dang, Mark! I'm sorry you had to cancel your trip. But I'm sure you'll make it to Tassie one day.
Handsome Sam is a perfect name for your horse.
I had no idea that quarter racing has just been introduced to Oz. I thought there were quarter horses there for aeons.
Here's a shout out to Tutes - Come Back! We love you!

I have no idea about what Quarter Horse racing means. Breeding horses would keep you really busy.

Mark,
Sounds like there's a market for horse-breeders with your expertise in quarter horse breeding, in Oz. If Trump becomes pres, you might consider the move!

Morning/evening everyone, Thought I would just pop in and let you know that I am still alive and kicking and not drinking or smoking. It's is now 74 days since I gave up smoking. It has been a very hard journey and one I would never want to repeat. But I must say learning so much here about " my inside job" has helped me. I see so many on the other site cave in and start smoking that it makes me aware of what triggers us to smoke or drink. But that is an inside job and only the person who is giving up will work that out. So penguin and I are both well. He is in Canberra at the moment then flying to Western Australia, he comes home Saturday and we are going on holidays on the Monday. We plan on seeing parts of Tassie we haven't seen before. So we are looking forward to spending time together, first holiday not smoking so it will be different. When I dropped him off at the airport I see all the smokers outside just having the last one before they fly out. I am so glad those days are over. I have been busy painting. Since my mum died my painting has changed heaps, so different. Not sure why maybe she is trying to make me venture out more and away from my comfort zone. So if I can I will include one to show you. Work is going really well, have been there nearly 7 months, how times flies. The girls are all younger than me but a great bunch. Only 2 males which are both nice. One makes me laugh, has me and the customers in stitches, it's good going to a shift knowing he is on. He asked me to marry him, I told him I would have to check with my husband and I'll get back to him on that one lol. Birthday last week penguin was away but he left me a present hidden and I had to go find it. It was an easel for painting, flowers and a inside plant, two beautiful cards all hidden around the place. He would give me hints, like a treasure hunt, was funny at the time. So all good down under. Hope everyone is happy and healthy and don't forget to smile. Tutu

Hey PJ,
thanks for for the birthday wishes. My sister is happy I am now 55, mind you she is 65 but being the baby of the family she thinks it's great.
hubby 50 next week, so a big one for him. Taking him away for a few days R & R :-)) haven't bought him anything yet, I have something planned but don't know yet if I can get it.
I know we have a few birthdays in October, RJ, Sam I think, Mark LA I think as well. A lady on the smoking site tells me Librians are home bodies, best people to be married too, I agree with that Lol.
74 days no smoking so going strong. Now it's just the mind trying to make me smoke, as they say the junkie thinking. I'm sure it will become easier just like not drinking did. I don't even think about that now, I just don't drink. Now I can say I just don't smoke. That one, smoking I still have to watch out for. I told them on the forum if I can bury my mum and not smoke I can have anything happen and not smoke.
a beautiful sunny day here in tasmania! I have the day off, so I'm just going to have a music/ painting day. Lovely,
tutu/ang

Hey TuTu,
You need to give some hints such as "my birthday is in two days" or "my birthday is tomorrow" or "today is my birthday". Anyway, happy belated birthday!
I like the painting. If I am supposed to see something in your painting, I do. I see a little orange lady with pigtails in a green tutu running away from a food fight holding a bowl in her right hand (bottom right). I also see gasoline, well, petrol down under, being poured from a can onto a campfire (top left) in which case the little orange lady in the green tutu with pigtails is a only a burning amber. (No, I haven't been drinking, but I did grill steaks tonight).
That's it, I see steaks on a grill!
Mark/Jeyu

Hey mark,
I must say you "see" a lot in my small painting, it must have been the lighting or fumes from your BBQ. Lol
but the girl in the pigtails well she is very happy that you saw her.
good to see you back here. Life must be busy.
love ya
