Hi there, Jenn Wonderful to hear from you again. May I ask was is Pavlova ? It sounds complicated....lol. How lovely that your son made you breakfast. What did you have ? I understand your wanting that glass of wine with your son, but good on you for choosing the lemon water . My leg is fair. I still have not heard from the surgeon, and yes, the waiting is getting annoying. My mother doesn't understand why the delay, as when she had one done the doctor read it immediately. I'll keep you posted. Have a most wonderful day, Jenn. Beth Hey Beth, Pavlova is a dessert (apparently named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova) consisting of a meringue cake/cup filled with fresh fruit, usually strawberries, kiwi fruit, passionfruit or whatever takes your fancy, topped with cream. It's not difficult just a bit tricky to get the meringues to be crispy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside. My son's favourite. My breakky was rye toast with egg, avocado and tomato and onion salsa with chilli oil. Not too flamboyant it's just that he's so efficient and quick ... I'd take the same time he did to prepare it, just thinking about what to have. I'm not used to having young ones around again, they're so 'speedy' and 'with it' ... Im getting slow (in more ways than one) in my older years. :-? I think one of the difficult and often overlooked aspects of being ill or incapacitated is in the 'giving up of control' .. the waiting game. One is completely in the hands of the powers that be. I tend to act on the 'squeaky wheel' attitude, I call to remind them that I'm waiting on info. I spend a lot of time in hospitals/doctors with my refugees, if I don't hassle a bit things can go under the radar so to speak. I'm not the most patient patient... :-) Jenn

Hi Jenn, Have a great weekend. Take care. Pam Hey Pam, Hows life in your neck of the woods, actually I can't remember where your 'neck of the woods' is... England ? I'm in Australia, way up north. It's getting hotter by the day, still not too much humidity so I'm doing ok, dread that humidity, it's debilitating. Not complaining though, I'd rather be hot than cold I've realised. Life is is moving on as it should be. I hope your weekend is peaceful. :-) Jenn

Good news on my leg.....finally....the surgeon called yesterday morning and told me that after reviewing my CT scan that it appears as if there has been " significant healing" and that all looks good ! He told me I can gradually start putting weight on it and restart my physical therapy. I don't have to go back for 6 more weeks. I was so happy I had tears in my eyes.
I admire your work with the refugees. Could you tell me more about it ? A true humanitarian you are.

I live in Illinois. We get our fair share of the heat during the summer but usually . . . nothing like the South (I was born and raised in Louisiana). So far, we've had fair weather this November. Not especially cold for this time of year. . . . so far, it's been fairly mild. However, eventually. . . January or so, . . . we'll get several feet of snow . . . . I think it's pretty only when I don't have to drive in it. . . . walk in it. . .
The weekend has been quiet and just fine. Just the usual Saturday routine and watching just a bit of television regarding the incidents overseas.
So, take care and I hope you and yours have a wonderful day.

Thank you , Pam. I am very relieved and happy. I have started to put a little weight on it as I walk with the walker and I have no pain. Yay ! I love the picture you are using ! Enjoy your weekend.

Hey Jenn, Wow how exciting to have your son come and stay. You must be over the moon. I'm glad that he sounds a bit better. Wish I was a good cook, you must have trained him well Jenn. You've done such a great job with your kids.

Hey Jenn, Wow how exciting to have your son come and stay. You must be over the moon. I'm glad that he sounds a bit better. Wish I was a good cook, you must have trained him well Jenn. You've done such a great job with your kids. Hey Kim, I think that's one of the nicest things anyone has said to me and I thank you. I know now you're doing it tough and I know you have to give up smoking but please don't let the difficulty of doing that overwhelm you and drive you to drink. Alcohol alters who we are, diminishes our strength and authenticity. I should speak for myself I guess..it alters who I am !! I've chosen to do that in the past..these days I'd rather sit with myself, flaws an all, and accept my humanity, humbly knowing that right at this moment, I'm doing the best I can do .. for me that means absolutely no alcohol under any circumstances. I cannot and will not allow me to let me down again. Stay strong Kim .. I find taking small steps, doing just the next right thing, breaking my world into small pieces, works for me. There's so much fear emanating from our beautiful planet right now, I try not to absorb it, for now. hugs to you Jenn

Hey Jenn, You must be psychic knowing I was feeling overwhelmed. I'm practising just sitting with my emotions just accepting them for what they are and then watching them pass eventually. It would be easy to go back to drinking as an excuse to stop smoking. But I know it wouldn't work I would end up still smoking as I would be too drunk to care. So that won't happen. I'll think about what you said; breaking my world into small pieces and just doing the next right thing. Hope you and your son are going well.
