Hey, Mark, growing up in Iowa, autumn was my favorite. "Does it ever cool off appreciably on your island?" Hmmm. Define 'appreciably'. In Jan and Feb, it cools down to highs in the mid-eighties and overnight lows in the high seventies. I appreciate it. Any hunting seasons open up your way, yet? Hey Ron Its Brett. The forum Marks are scattered all around the planet but I haven't seen one from Michigan on here yet Autumn is definitely the best month for me around here. Pike fishing is at a peak, salmon begin their annual run from the Great Lakes into the river systems. And then of course deer hunting season. Archery starts October 1 through Nov 14. Then general firearm season kicks in Nov 15-30. Then its back to Archery through January 1. There is black powder/muzzle loader thrown in there in December depending on the hunt area you're in. Also a late antlerless season to top it off. There are somewhere around 350,000 deer taken in Michigan each year according to the last numbers I reviewed. And there are still way too many running around. That's just my opinion. Deer (and quite a few humans) beings feel differently I'm certain.

Sorry about that, Brett. I'm getting old.
When I can, I like to fish for bass (anywhere I can) and pike (usually in MN). My hunting was limited to pheasant, rabbit, and squirrel, and I haven't hunted since ca. 1969.
