Thanks for all the kind messages guys and wishing me the best. Its morning and the birds are singing and I'm having a coffee. The sun will be up soon. Its great to be alive. I'm feeling a peace that I've never known before. Its great to be able to hand over my life to a higher power. I ended up having only a few cravings yesterday. I kept busy and just dismissed them as pure insanity. I bought food with the money I am saving already. I'm still really tired and my mind is very scattered. You are right Yvan, I've suffered enough pain through this horrible disease. I can't wait to hear about your Thailand trip Brett. Time to move forward and look to a better life. Off to make breakfast.

Kim, It really sounds like you have successfully crossed a major threshold in the life of a recovering alcoholic! Without a doubt, you will have more challenges to come, but look back on this one to give yourself strength to make it through the next one. Congratulations! Mark/Jeyu

Kim,
How are you? Your last message indicated that you felt at peace but still felt a bit tired. It's been a couple of days since you've checked in . . . are you sleeping any better? Hope you are feeling a bit more rested and the cravings are continuing to subside each day . . . Also, hope you've had the energy to get out and about recently . . . Take care. Pam

Hey All, I managed to get through payday without picking up. A major achievement for me. The cravings have all but vanished. Just the occasional thought pops up and I just remove it. I've been busy bleaching the house to make sure all the germs from the stomach bug are dead. Thanks Jenn for your kind message. Thanks Jeyu and Pam for your posts. I had a great nights sleep last night.

Hey Kim A great nights sleep is a powerful ally in this process. Booze was always a sleep disturber for me. While it seemed to make me drowsy, the actual quality of the sleep was shlit.
I know it's tough to remain sober when there is money available to buy alcohol. You've mentioned this before. Great job avoiding the bottle shop once again.
Today I am in the southern part of Thailand. Went up to the mountains and it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. And the food.. wow. When I get home, I will email you some pictures. I met my girlfriends family. Wonderful people and a pleasure to be around even though I don't speak much Thai. I try and they giggle. Anyway, keep doing what you're doing. You're going to be fine.

Hi Kim, I was just checking in to see how you have been doing. As you can see, even though this forum is far less active than it once was, there are still people pulling for you. Count me among that group. Mark/Jeyu

Hi Kim, Did you join the forum other members used to get support as you let go of smoking? It seemed very helpful. Hope you are just as successful. It's a brand new day. Congrats! Pam
** I am sorry to hear your ulcer is creating such discomfort. I've heard family member describe the pain. Hopefully, there's medication or a new diet that can ease your pain or soothe your symptoms. *Hope you feel better each day.

Hey all, today is officially one month sober. Not a single drop. Im proud of myself. It took an ulcer to bring me to my senses and my final rock bottom. Im now having a few dreams about alcohol and wake up relieved its only a dream. Today im doing some gardening and more cleaning. Hope everyone has a great day.
