You're not so bad yourself, Brett! I particularly like your long, velvety ears!

Woah, What a couple a lookers you both are! Blue, classically stunning. JEYU, shoulda been a model instead of just a role model. I dunno about you, though, Brett. I'd have to say you're kind of a dog.

Well aren't we all one big happy forumly with faces now!! Love it.
All this bravery got me thinking. Being a drunk was acceptable up to a certain point. I did it proudly through my 20's. The life of the party, until it got ugly. Still I soldiered on and eventually became a closeted drunk. Something definitely worth hiding as it was awful and everything negative one could imagine short of homelessness. Why then would I choose to be anonymous in my sobriety? Its me being healthy and that's something to have some pride in. I get it that society doesn't approve of alcoholics and addicts. That the world knowing about me could close doors and create problems that could cause me to lose opportunities I suppose. Possibly cause people to judge me and the things I have talked about here. But there is an awful lot of hypocrisy in the world if you think about it. Anyway, I'm glad to see your shining faces. This place just got more real to me. That's a good thing.

They are a "thank you (TY)", "helpful member (the star)" and "writer (the feather)". I'm still not sure how HTKY gave em to me, but it sure felt nice. Now they are under my avatar thingy and I couldn't be happier. Love you back

It's great to put faces to names, although I already knew what some of you looked like. I figured traffic is slow around these parts, so I might as well come out of the closet and show my face. You guys feel like family. Also, there is a huge movement in the USA for us alkies and addicts to put faces to our names, to raise awareness so that addiction loses its stigma. Here's a link: manyfaces1voice.org/I'm joining the rally in DC on October 4th. www.facingaddiction.org/

Here's a link: manyfaces1voice.org/I'm joining the rally in DC on October 4th. www.facingaddiction.org/Thank you for posting that blue, it is amazing how far the Western societies have gone and advanced with many social topics, same sex marriage being legal in all American states is an example, yet the stigma that society still attaches to addiction keeps many addicts from seeking help. It is hard to believe that there are people out there who still believe in "why can't you just stop?!", it is as if the problem is the addict's only. Addiction affects society in general, all aspects of society, and this is by no means to shift the blame or to not take responsibility for one's actions and behavior, but the problem is much deeper than that. Governments should spend more money funding more research and starting campaigns that educate the masses about what addiction is all about, and what to do about it. Many active addicts out there have no idea how to seek help and are dying out there, how can we expect the "normies" to understand? Sam
