Hey Mark,
You will just have to wait until I can tell you all what the surprise is. It's sooooo big I have to pinch myself to believe it.
Trust me you will be the first to know. But not yet, be patient. I'm even dreaming about it, I know weird but I am.
Glad you are here and posting.

<<<then I dawned on me, not the drink or the smoke would help the situation, in fact it would just make all of it worse. Not only would the situation not change but on top of that I would hate myself for letting something get the better of me and allow me to think that drinking or smoking would help.>>>
Music to my ears. :-)
I'm proud of you for rising above that, Ang. Hugs.

Hey PJ,
this is place might be quiet, it might only have a skeleton crew but I have learnt so much here.
if not for this place, everyone here I would have picked up a bottle and a smoke. I have learnt that nothing can change a problem except for myself. The outcome might not be what I want, but I will do what I know I can do.
Being positive is what my parents taught me, I taught my kids and hopefully they will teach their kids.
one day I can show them how lovely I really am. One day.

Morning/evening everyone,
I have just got home from work and I thought I would pop in and say HI. Tomorrow is 40 days no smoking so I have decided to buy myself a trophy:-) like I did when I reached forty days no drinking. I remember we were on holidays in tasmania! I was going to go to my first party, no alcohol, I was petrified. Mark SC, he was always so sweet, gave me the name Tutu, told me that I would be ok at the party.
well I was ok, I got a trophy had it engraved, 40 days no alcohol.that was 18 months ago. Now we live in Tasmania and I will be 40 days smoke free. Mind you it's been a very hard 40 days.i have been tested to the max, I have cried, I lost my Mum and I still didn't smoke. So really anything is possible. You just have to want it bad enough.
Mondays SBS has Andre Reui at 1.00pm. My mum loved his music, at the nursing home after lunch every Monday she would put the tv on and watch him. So today at 1 pm I put on the tv and cried the whole hour. My sister messages me and she was doing the same.
Saturday i I have a party to go to at the local pub. One of the girls at work has left and we are going out for drinks:-) nothing like a good coke with ice. I'm looking forward to it.
i have been busy painting again today. I have a few painting that I need to get finished. And I will tell you why:-) but not just yet lol. It's my surprise. It's so amazing you will all just love it.
hope you are all well, smiling and say hello to a stranger. You just might brighten up your day and theirs.

Morning everyone,

i am so excited. It's all taking place in about 2 weeks. Even penguin is excited. Now you are all wondering who would this person be. Well guess what. You have to wait to find out LOL.
its someone who is very dear to me, oh you all are, very dear to me. So which one loves me the most:-)) oh that's right you all do BUT, one person, has to fly a very long way.
enough clues.

Hey Dana,
I have been busy with work and hubby home so just catching up now. Yes it is very exciting news, I suppose I should just tell you all who it is and get it all over and down with. !!!!!!!
i am now 42 days smoke free. I see you on the other site as well Dana! man you have done a great job transferring everything over for us here. Thank you.
the other site is a very busy place. It has taught me heaps. I read a lot, knowledge is power. It's good to see all of our August champions doing so well.
With me, I gave up alcohol, I wasn't going to do that twice, same with smoking. Who would want to do hell week or heck week twice. Once my mind is made up, well there is no turning back. It takes guts that's for sure.
Must go I have a work party to go to and then work tonight.
love to all. Smile at someone, you never know they might just smile back at you.

Hey everyone,
while sending a message to Dana I was going to tell you all who was coming to Australia, actually tasmania to be more precise, to visit little old tutu.
well I have been given permission to tell you all. It's one of the musketeers, Mark/Jeyu. How exciting is that. Now I know I will catch up with Sparrow our other musketeer, but that might have to wait until next year.
so I have been busy making sure I have the paintings for Mark to take back for me. Have 2 for Sparrow, 2 for PJ, and a few for Mark. Now we haven't worked out the details of how we will get these painting to America, but if there is a will there is a way.
Also penguin gets to met Mark as well. Penguin knows that I have " special" friends that I email, send photos etc but to met f2f is something very special. I hope I can understand the strange language you guys speak LOL.
How ya doing? G'day mate. Now driving on the other side of the road might be a bit dangerous for Mark. I remember his story about his last visit coming out of the airport in Australia, but he was drinking then so now his brain should know what to do:-))
so there you have it Mark and Tutu will finally get to hug, how sweeeeet is that.

Angelina I am just thrilled for you and Mark/Jeyu to have these awesome plans to meet up in living color! So exciting! Really something special to look forward to. I'm glad you told us, that you got the permission, to share. I'm so happy for you!
Yes, the other forum is super busy - it always has been. When I joined over there 6 years ago, it was all I could do to just keep up with my group the JuLions '09. As time goes on, and for many different reasons, the buddy group threads usually start to slow down. People get busy with their lives, or sadly they go back to smoking, or just need a break from the forum - when that happened to our group I had a little extra time to venture out and participate in other threads and get to know some different folks. Anyway, I'm glad you're finding it so helpful too! I'm so happy for you becoming a non-smoker!

Hey Dana,
i often see your name on the smoking site as well. Boy you are a busy lady. I much prefer this site, I just go to the other one catch up on my group and then hit the " Mark as read" button. So they all disappear.
i find I'm strong enough now to just talk myself out of the craving and move on. But at the start OMG, 15 minutes I needed that site all the time. PJ also helped with emails in between. It's certainly very very hard to give up the smokes.
having the two sites I'm not sure what I tell one or what I tell the other. On the other site I have to be a real lady lol. Here I'm just me, more relaxed and comfortable.
its 1 am, I'm having my cup of tea and will be going to bed soon.
Keep playing with Sparrow, he loves games.

Hello everyone,
I forgot to tell you all how the party went today. My first party as a non smoker. I had a good time, I could smell the smoke a mile away, as soon as I smelt it I was like a radar or a blood hound, ears pricked up,had to find out who it was, where it was coming from, and then thought yuk that stinks and kept talking and laughing.
the party was fun, we bought the girl a slow cooker for a farewell present. I saw a different group of work people. Amazing how different they are when they drink, they get loud, they swear, they say things that they would normally not say. Very interesting when I'm the new one, and the only non drinker. What goes on in the mile, when they drink, doesn't stay on the mile lol.
so first party done and dusted as a non smoker.

Hi Angelina, sounds like a fun party! Isn't it great not to have a hangover after a party!? I sometimes think about ol' so and so the next day and wonder how much they're hurting, and so grateful I don't have a hangover to nurse!
That's great you can go and do things as a non-smoker now too! In the beginning we sometimes have to avoid places that would be a trigger, but as time goes on and we get more comfortable as non-smokers we can go do those things, and we get stronger in our resolve to BE a non-smoker, regardless of whether people around us are smoking or not. :-)

Hey Dana,
I'm getting to think less and less about smoking! and when I do, I tell myself to "just get over it." One puff, like one drink, not in my vocabulary anymore. And I'm ok with that. I don't need to drink to relax and have a good time, now I don't need smoking to take off the stress.
im not sure if anyone else thinks like this but I know I can't just have one, not now not ever. Knowing that, not ever. NOPE not one puff ever we should have NODE not one drink ever. So I NOPE and NODE each day and know I'm a better person because of it.
in Tasmania they are trying to bring in a law that if you are born after the year 2000, no smoking allowed at all. I think it's a great idea but I'm not sure it will get passed. If I think about my first smoke at 13 it was terrible, so why do we keep doing it.

Morning everyone,
I just checked the calendar I am now 46 days smoke free. I have just got home from work and I now have two days off. So penguin is away and it's only a week till Mark arrives in Australia. I am really excited to be meeting f2f. I have been busy painting, want to make sure I have them all ready to go back with him.
He can start up an art gallery TNT display lol.
Penguin has gone away Melbourne! Sydney and Brisbane. The weather the last few days has been amazing. Now I have noticed we have a few that have registered but are not joining in yet.
Please feel free to join in or start up a discussion, we are all here to help. I am 18 months sober and 46 smoke free. So ask away. I now NOPE (not one puff ever) and I also NODE ( not one drink ever) that my new word NODE.
Hope everyone today smiles and says hello to a complete stranger. Make your day and theirs. :-))
