I haven't been around here in a while, so I didn't see it happening. But Angelina alerted me that someone (or something, as in a bot) was spamming the heck out of the forum. I got in touch with Buddy, and he got rid of the posts and banned the offender(s).
It may not be busy like it used to be, but the purpose of this place is still good and honorable and so very important: to provide support for those who are struggling with the effects of alcohol abuse. We've all been there. We all know the hell alcohol dependence can cause. We all helped each other -- every one of us, in some way, helped each other recover. And this forum played an invaluable role in our recovery by bringing us all together in one place where we could provide support.
Thank you, Angelina, for getting in touch with me. Thank you, Buddy, for taking care of the problem -- and for creating this forum in the first place and keeping it online.
Hugs to you all, PJ

Hey PJ,
i often check the forum and and I see that many call in and look but nothing happens. If not for this place and people like you to help me I would probably still be drinking, smoking. I now have opened an art gallery and cafe and my penguin and I run it. It’s doing very well and it’s good for Tasmania.
im very proud of how far I have come without needing or wanting alcohol. My life was very much a mess, I thought drinking could help sort it out, get my head around it, that was one of the lies I kept telling myself. It wasn’t until my husband said “enough”. And few other words to me that I thought #### I do have a problem.
i look up the internet and found this forum. I have made some wonderful friends, who held my hand when it got tough. PJ if not for you I wouldn’t/couldn’t have given up smoking. Now that was hard. But like anything worth doing it takes a lot of willpower and some tough love to do it.
So please anyone who is having trouble with drinking, when all you think about is how you will have that next drink, how you can have it with no one knowing, trust me, they do all know. Stop hiding and face the demon in that bottle.
my husband still drinks, but it doesn’t consume him like it consumed me. He can go days and weeks without it. I couldn’t go a Day.
but the good news is I made it because of this site, the support, facing my problems, looking at why I drank. As confronting as it is at the time I did. As many others have. One glass is never an option, one smoke is never an option. But I don’t need or want either.
thank you PJ and Buddy for helping this site look better. I hate scammers, how rude they invade a place people might turn too for help.
love and hugs to all,
angelina ballerina aka Tutu

Hi PJ and TuTu,
After several failed attempts, I was able to log on. Maybe the site thinks I am printing money these days. Yes, the forum has been a benefit to many of us. I remember those first few weeks of withdrawal almost 4 years ago like they were yesterday. There were times when I was hanging on minute by minute, checking the forum, hoping that someone would post something to give me strength, anything to hold on to until the next day. You two and many more always came through. I too have developed friendships that will last a lifetime through my association with this place and will always be thankful for those who always had the will to share their experiences, knowledge, and compassion. I feel that the most valuable asset that we have is our time, because that is the only thing that can't be replaced. I figure that most people can always work hard and make more money, but once time is spent, it is gone forever. So thank you to all of those who have generously contributed their time to help me and so many others who have previously struggled with addiction. Speaking of time, maybe since this place is slow, we should set a date for all who are still checking in periodically to visit the site and say hello. I propose the 1st day of every month; open to all who have or have had a problem with addiction. See ya'll December 1st.
Later, friends. Mark/Jeyu

Hello everyone,
tomorrow is the 1st December here but not where you are, the time difference is an issue for me as well. So I will try and get back on your 1st December and have a chat to a few of you I am hoping.
what a great idea of Jeyu/mark to all come on the 1st of every month and see how we are all doing.
its warm down under, hot for Tasmania. It’s still such a beautiful place to live. I had customers from Canada call in a few days ago. I have had people from South Africa, China, so it’s been very interesting. It seems that most people from all over the world enjoy a great coffee.
so I hope to see a few of the oldies and maybe some newbies here on the 1st December, which is my second. Lol.
please feel free to stop by and chat, it would be great to see this place come alive.
love to all,
angelina/tutu

Well hello friend, TuTu, You have a big head start from Tasmania; 18 hours ahead? Canada, South Africa, China? Wow. I hope you are keeping a guest book. It will be fun to look back years from now and see where all of your customers have come from. Maybe you'll get one from Texas and a few from Michigan someday. Here's hoping! Mark/Jeyu

Hello my dear friend,
we have had a busy day here as well and it’s raining. I haven’t started a book for guests to sign, I might think about that one.
i would so love to have a few from Texas and Michigan call in. What a dream come true that would be.
i hope people visit the site today.

Mark/Jesus! Mark/LA! Angelina/TuTu! PJ/PJ! Happy Healthy Sober New Year to you all (and anyone else that pops in too). As for Mark/Jesus, while autocorrect no doubt was involved with this last post of yours, you ARE a savior of sorts. So in my book, you’re not too far off the mark. And being a Jew, I can be kinda tough on messiahs.
